My name is Hyunkyu Lee, founder of Aurora Companions.
Since 2020, I have worked as a healthcare worker across more than 50 hospitals, personal care homes, and healthcare facilities throughout Manitoba. Over the years, I have accumulated more than 20,000 hours of frontline healthcare experience, supporting patients and working closely with their families during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
Throughout my career, I began to notice something important.
Many seniors, adults, and youth do not only need medical care. They also need emotional support, meaningful connection, and someone to walk alongside them through everyday life.
Physical illness is difficult, but loneliness, isolation, and the lack of human connection can often create challenges that are just as significant.
I have met many individuals who were not necessarily struggling because of a medical condition, but because they felt alone. Some stopped participating in activities they once enjoyed because they had no companion to go with them. Others simply needed someone to talk to, share a walk with, attend an appointment with, or spend a few meaningful hours together.
That is why I created Aurora Companions.
I believe not everyone needs extensive home care services or expensive long-term support. For many people, just one or two hours of companionship can make a tremendous difference in their quality of life.
Aurora was created to fill that gap — providing trusted companionship, meaningful connection, and practical everyday support for people of all ages.
Our goal is simple:
To ensure that no one has to face life's challenges alone.
At Aurora Companions, we promise to:
1. Put people before profit.
We will never approach our clients as transactions. Every individual deserves genuine care, respect, and dignity.
2. Value authentic human connection.
We believe meaningful relationships are at the heart of emotional well-being and quality of life.
3. Do our best to support your needs.

4. Treat every client like family.
